Oregon Trail Bits

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Cream butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla together in a large mixing bowl.

  3. In a separate mixing bowl, mix together baking soda, baking powder, both flours.

  4. Gradually add flour mixture to creamed mixture in the main mixing bowl.

  5. Slowly add oatmeal, raisin bran cereal, and chocolate chips to dough until well blended.

  6. Stir in M&M candies.

  7. Use a cookie dough scoop or tablespoon to dollop dough onto a lightly greased cookie sheet (8-12 cookies per sheet)

  8. Press dough lightly with spoon to flatten.

  9. Bake 9-15 minutes or until lightly brown.

  10. Cool on wire rack.

Ingredients

1 Cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened

1 Cup sugar

1 Cup brown sugar

2 Eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

1 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. baking soda

2 1/4 Cups soft white 100% whole wheat flour

1 Cup oatmeal

1 1/2 cups Raisin Bran cereal (optional)

1 Cup chocolate chips

1 Cup M&M’s
