Slow Cooker Wheat Cereal

Servings: 4-6 bowls

Ingredients

2 cups either hard red or soft white wheat berries (rinsed)

4 cups water

1 cup chopped fruit (optional)

1/8 cup raisins

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

2 tbsp. brown sugar (add more for a sweeter taste)

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp allspice

1/2 tsp ground cloves

½ cup sliced almonds (optional)

Directions

Combine all ingredients in slow-cooker (Crock Pot™) and cook overnight on low heat.  Soft white berries will cook soft more quickly than hard red.  Allow 10 hours or more for best results with hard red berries.  Substitute Stevia extract for sugar if desired.  When finished cooking, add favorite toppings and enjoy!
